wood
size 40 x 40 x 10 cm
The feeling and time included in a piece of art are important for sculptor Antti Ylönen. The story in material, the history from the past to the present inside of it touches the artist as well as person viewing it. The artworks that seem to call out for human touch compel the viewer to stop in the middle of experiencing everyday life and haste. The sensitivity of wooden sculpture's forms converge into a moment which is no longer measured by minutes or hours.
Ylönen has been working several periods abroad, for example Spain, Turkey and India. In Japan Ylönen has been working twice, in 2002 for AIR programme of Studio Youkobo, Tokyo and in 2003 for commissioned sculpture project of Haramachi Concert Hall.
